Emre Doruk Taşkın
- Master’s Student
I am a Master’s student in Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Freiburg. My foundational research experience began during my undergraduate studies, where I designed and developed an end-to-end patent retrieval system from natural language queries. This project included work in patent classification, resulting in a paper that I presented at the SIU 2025 conference.
Since starting my Master’s, my focus has shifted toward the theoretical and algorithmic foundations of machine learning. Through my graduate coursework and personal research interests, I am engaged with deep reinforcement learning, optimization algorithms, and foundation models. As an incoming ELIZA Scholar, I look forward to translating this theoretical groundwork into impactful research within the program.
